Since 1955 - We Build it Better

SK ConstructionSK Construction began on August 19, 1955 under the name Smith & Keller. Our primary business was grading yards, excavating basements and ponds. The owners and only employees were Dick Smith and Marvin Keller. By 1960, Smith and Keller had expanded out of the private market and started doing public works contracts for the City of Middletown and Butler County, Ohio.

By 1965 our customer base had expanded to include the Ohio Department of Transportation, Armco Steel, and many of the paper mills and machine shops in southwestern Ohio.

In 1967, the company was incorporated and the name changed to SK Construction Company. Marvin Keller was president and remained in this position until he left the company in 1984 for health reasons. Dick Smith served as president from 1984 until 1994. Dan Smith became president in 1994 and remains in this position today.

Over the years we have expanded from excavation to utility construction, roads, bridges, site work, airports, and concrete construction. The strength of our past can best be described as the "foundation" for our future. We have a lot of history to build upon, and the forward thinking people to continue this tradition of hard work, quality work, and honest work well into the next century.
